With the requirements of national environmental protection, calcium zinc stabilizers have gradually replaced lead salt stabilizers and are widely used in the production and processing of PVC products such as sheets, pipes, corrugated pipes, profiles, pipe fittings, and wires and cables. Although calcium zinc stabilizers are environmentally friendly and cost-effective, we still need to master some skills in the use process to achieve twice the result with half the effort.
1. Confirm the green and environmentally friendly nature of the calcium zinc stabilizer formula: It is necessary to pay attention to whether the content of heavy metals (lead, cadmium, tin, barium) can meet the requirements of the product and comply with the new national standards.
2. Calcium zinc stabilizers have strong internal lubrication effects and require more external lubricants to be added.
3. The thermal stability of calcium zinc stabilizers is weaker than that of lead salts, with a narrower processing window and higher control requirements.
4. Pay attention to the cleaning cycle during the operation process. Adding a large amount of calcium zinc stabilizer lubricant can easily lead to increased precipitation, thereby affecting the cleaning cycle. For large-scale production, the impact is greater, and it is necessary to strictly select stabilizer varieties. If it is a self owned stabilizer, it needs to be combined with PE wax or oxidized wax that has good lubrication effect in the middle and later stages. Strictly controlling the vacuum degree can reduce precipitation and prolong the cleaning time of the mold.
5. The formula and appropriate dosage of a good stabilizer have little effect on the appearance, material properties, and aging resistance of the product.
