1. Improve the technical level of cable products
CPE technology has comprehensive performance, excellent flame retardancy and oil resistance, good heat aging resistance, ozone resistance, climate resistance, and good process mixing performance. It has almost no scorching and long-term storage performance without deterioration, making it a good cable material.
The long-term working temperature of CPE is 90 ℃, and as long as the formula is appropriate, its maximum working temperature can reach 105 ℃. The application of CPE can increase the production level of rubber cables from 65 ℃ to the level of 75-90 ℃ or even 105 ℃ in developed countries abroad. CPE adhesive itself is as white as snow, so whether it is used as insulation or sheath, it can be made into colorful products according to user needs. However, conventional products such as natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, chloroprene rubber, and nitrile rubber are difficult to produce pure white or beautiful colors due to their yellowing. In addition, the commonly used chloroprene rubber and chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber have difficult to solve problems such as monomer and solvent toxicity, volatilization, etc. during the production process. In storage, transportation, and cable production, problems such as scorching and roller sticking often occur. For CPE, these headache inducing issues are almost non-existent. Another point worth noting is that when chlorination is used for low-voltage insulation, it will not pollute the copper core, which undoubtedly improves the level of cable technology.
2. Wide process adaptability, low cost, and profitability
After being extruded by a rubber extruder, CPE mixed rubber can be thermally crosslinked at high temperatures or crosslinked by electron irradiation at room temperature. However, conventional chloroprene rubber cannot be crosslinked by electron irradiation, and conventional natural styrene butadiene rubber is not suitable for irradiation crosslinking.
3. Adjusting the structure of cable products is beneficial
As far as low-voltage wires and cables are concerned, they are mainly divided into two categories according to their uses: construction wires and electrical equipment wires. Due to its many advantages that synthetic rubber does not have, CPE can be widely used in the manufacturing of household electrical flexible wires and other electrical equipment flexible cables.
